Country Baked Beans

After sampling these savory beans at a local John Deere dealer's open house, the recipe was requested. Surprisingly, they had started with canned beans and easily given them a wonderful homemade taste. They went over big at a summer reunion.

Ingredients

4 (16 ounce) cans baked beans, drained
1 (12 ounce) bottle chili sauce
1 large onion, chopped
1 pound sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup packed brown sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Pour into a 4 1/2-quart bean pot or two ungreased 2-quart baking dishes.

Bake, uncovered, for 45 to 60 minutes or until heated through.
