BBQ Rub

This rub goes great with pork shoulder and beef brisket. If using on brisket, omit the sugars.

Yield

3/4 cup

Ingredients

1 tablespoon ground mustard
1 tablespoon seafood seasoning, such as Old BayTM
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon ground white pepper
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
3 tablespoons granulated (white) sugar
3 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions

Mix together mustard, seafood seasoning, garlic powder, white pepper, black pepper, red pepper flakes, paprika, salt, cumin, sugar, and brown sugar in a bowl until evenly combined.

To use, rub the mixture on up to 5 pounds of meat and refrigerate from 2 to 12 hours before smoking or grilling.
