The Best Doggy Biscuits
These whole wheat dog biscuits are so good! Your dog will love them.
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 tablespoon salt***
1/3 cup vegetable oil*
1 cup water**
Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, stir together the whole wheat flour, cornmeal and salt. Mix in the oil, egg and water to make a soft dough that is not too sticky. You may add more flour if needed. Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten slightly.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until nicely browned and firm. Cool completely.

* Bacon grease can be substituted for vegetable oil.
** Beef broth or chicken broth can be substituted for water.
*** Garlic salt can be substituted for salt.
Add-ins: 1 jar baby food; peanut butter; parsley.
Store in an airtight container up to 4 days. Freeze up to 1 month. Defrost at room temperature for 1 hour.
