Cranberry Glazed Ham

Cranberry sauce, Balsamic dressing and orange zest and juice make this glazed ham delicious!

1 skinless bone-in ham, shank or butt-end portion (7 pounds)
1 (14 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
1/4 cup Balsamic vinaigrette dressing
1 tablespoon zest and 3 tablespoons juice from 1 orange


Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).

Place ham in shallow pan. Score ham; cover with foil. Bake 1 1/2 hours. Meanwhile, microwave remaining ingredients in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 30 to 45 sec. or until cranberry sauce is melted. Reserve 1 3/4 cups cranberry mixture.

Remove foil from ham. Bake, uncovered, 1 hour or until ham is heated through (140°F/60°C), brushing with remaining cranberry mixture every 20 minutes.

Transfer ham to cutting board; cover loosely with foil. Let stand 15 minutes. Slice ham; serve with reserved cranberry mixture.

Serve with smart sides such as your favorite steamed vegetable and a baked potato.

When purchasing a fully-cooked bone-in ham, look for a ham with a finely grained texture and rosy pink color. An iridescent appearance on the meat's surface does not affect quality. Press the meat to make sure it feels firm, not spongy. Plan to get 4 to 5 servings from each pound of ham.

To score ham: Using a sharp knife, make 1/4-inch-deep parallel cuts, about 1 inch apart, in top surface of ham. Make additional scores at right angles to form diamond shapes.
