Browned Butter Mocha Icing

The subtle coffee flavor in the frosting adds a tasty touch to this frosting.

2 cups

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter (no substitutes)
3 cups confectioners’ (powdered) sugar
2 tablespoons brewed coffee
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 tablespoons milk

Directions

In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter until golden brown, about 7 minutes. Remove from the heat. Stir in sugar, coffee, vanilla and enough milk until frosting reaches spreading consistency.
