Creamy Lime Sherbet

The lime flavor in this cool treat is perfect, and the pastel color is so pretty.

1 (3 ounce) package lime gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 1/4 cups granulated (white) sugar
1 (6 ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
dash salt
1 quart milk
1 pint half-and-half cream
8 drops green food coloring (optional)


In a large bowl, dissolve gelatin in water. Add sugar, limeade and salt; mix until sugar is dissolved. Add remaining ingredients; blend well. Freeze in an ice cream freezer according to manufacturer's directions.
