Butter Mints II

These little gems make a big impact with very little effort. Perfect for baby showers, wedding showers, Valentine's Day, birthdays, or any gathering where fun and a little bit of a sweet tooth are present!

Ingredients

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, room temperature
1 package (16 ounces) confectioners’ (powdered) sugar, sifted
1 tablespoon milk or cream
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pure mint extract or 1/2 teaspoon pure peppermint extract
3 drops assorted food colors

Directions

Beat butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until well blended and smooth. Add milk, extracts and desired food color.

Remove mixture from bowl. Knead until color is evenly distributed. Shape into small patties. Or, roll gently with a rolling pin and cut into shapes with mini cookie cutters.

Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Additional Information

For Valentine's Day, use red food color. For St. Patrick's Day, use green food color. For a baby shower, use red or blue food color.
