1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups confectioners' (powdered) sugar
In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla extract. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until spreading consistency.
Coffee Creamy Filling: Add 1 teaspoon powdered instant coffee.
Orange Creamy Filling: Add 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated orange peel and 1 or 2 drops orange food color or orange icing color.
Almond Creamy Filling: Add 1/4 teaspoon almond extract.
