1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup ripe bananas, mashed
1 egg, beaten
In a saucepan, cream butter and sugar. Add bananas. Bring mixture to a boil while stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Beat a small amount of banana mixture and egg together to warm. Return banana/egg mixture to pan and heat, stirring constantly until thick. Cool to room temperature.
Use with Banana Cream Cake.
