Apricot Filling
A wonderful apricot filling made with dried apricots, brown sugar and mace. Cooked and processed until smooth.
Yield
enough to fill 9-inch cake
Ingredients
1 cup dried apricots
1 cup boiling water
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground mace
Directions
Place apricots and boiling water in a small bowl; let stand until completely cooled. Drain, reserving 1/3 cup liquid. In a small saucepan, combine apricots, brown sugar and reserved liquid. Cook over medium heat for 20 minutes or until thickened, stirring frequently. Remove from the heat; stir in mace. Cool completely. Place in a blender or food processor; cover and process until smooth.
