Cherry Chocolate Cake
This recipe is a chocolate lover's delight! It's so easy to make...and is perfect for cupcakes and bake sale treats, too.
1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 (20 ounce) cans reduced-sugar cherry pie filling, divided
3/4 teaspoon confectioners' (powdered) sugar
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with Pan Release, shortening, or cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs and almond extract until well blended. Stir in one can of pie filling until blended. Transfer to prepared baking pan.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire cooling rack. Dust with confectioners' sugar. Top individual servings with remaining pie filling.
