Herman Dinner Rolls

Yet another use for your Herman starter. For a variation try making a loaf of bread from your dough. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 25 to 30 minutes.


16 rolls


1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water (110°F to 115°F/43°C to 46°C)
1 cup Herman Sourdough Starter
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 pinch salt
4 tablespoons vegetable oil


In a large bowl combine yeast and warm water. Stir until yeast is dissolved. Add Herman Sweet Sourdough Starter, flour, salt, and oil. Mix well.

Shape into 16 rolls. Place in a greased 8-inch square pan. Let stand for 30 to 40 minutes.

Bake in a 350°F (177°C) oven for 20 minutes, or until brown.
