Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

This is a very moist and tasty bread! Perfect after dinner with some hot spiced tea.

Bread Ingredients

1/2 cup butter or margarine, room temperature
1 cup granulated (white) sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/4 cups canned or cooked pumpkin
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Glaze Ingredients

1 tablespoon heavy cream
1/2 cup confectioners' (powdered) sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter. Gradually add sugar, eggs and pumpkin. Combine dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture and blend well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour into prepared loaf pan.

Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until loaf tests done. Cool 10 minutes before turning out onto a cooling rack. Combine glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled bread.
