Grilled Cheese Loaf
This bread is wonderful served with steaks and salads. The loaf's so quick to make, in fact, you might want to grill two of them.
10 to 12 servings
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
2 tablespoons butter, room temperature
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup chopped green onions with tops
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 (1 pound) loaf French bread, sliced
In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter. Add cheese, onions and garlic salt; mix well. Spread on both sides of each slice of bread. Wrap loaf in a large piece of heavy-duty foil (about 28 x 18 inch); seal tightly. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes, turning once. Unwrap foil; grill 5 minutes longer.
1 serving (1 piece) equals 172 calories, 8 g fat (4 g saturated fat), 20 mg cholesterol, 381 mg sodium, 20 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 6 g protein.
