Honey Cardamom Mixed Nuts

Sweet honey and spicy cardamom come together in a hard-to-resist coating for mixed nuts.


24 servings (2 tablespoons each)


1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
3/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
2 (10 ounce) containers deluxe salted mixed nuts without peanuts


Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C). Spray a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan with cooking spray. Mix all ingredients except nuts in large bowl. Add nuts; stir to coat. Spread nuts in prepared pan.

Bake 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool in pan, stirring occasionally.

Additional Information

You can use a combination of whatever salted nuts you have. Almonds and cashews are especially elegant and are very nice together.

These spiced nuts are great to serve at a party at home or away, or to give as a special gift. Package them in a pretty jar or in their own serving dish, then add a bow and a copy of the recipe to present to the recipient.

Cardamom is known for its spicy sweet flavor and pungent aroma. It's used extensively in Scandinavian and East Indian cooking.
