Holiday Cheese Crackers

A fabulous cheese dough made with sharp Cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper sauce, then pressed through a cookie press to form a decorative cracker, then baked.

Yield

4 dozen crackers

Ingredients

1 pound sharp cheddar or aged swiss cheese, finely shredded*
1/2 cup butter or margarine, room temperature
2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
dash of hot pepper sauce
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika

Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F (191°C). In a medium bowl, cream the cheese, butter, Worcestershire Sauce and hot pepper sauce until smooth. In a separate bowl, toss flour and seasonings with fork. Gradually add to cheese mixture. Mix until dough holds together and shape into logs.

Place cracker dough into cookie press using any disk. Press onto ungreased baking sheet.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove and cool on rack. Sprinkle with paprika

Additional Information

* Do not use pre-shredded or processed packaged cheese.
